It is not the first time that the Zelenskyy family is dealing with war. His grandfather, Semyon Ivanovych Zelenskyy, served in the Red Army in Russia during World War II. At that time, when many Nazis lost their lives in the Holocaust, Zelenskyy lost his great grandfather and many other relatives because of their Jewish origin.
