In 2019, a 19-year-old archeology intern named Nico Calman discovered a 2,000-year-old Roman silver dagger in Germany. Found in a soldier's grave still in its sheath, the dagger was nearly unrecognizable due to centuries of corrosion. It took nine months of careful work to restore it.
