The World’s Tallest Water Buffalo Is a Gentle Giant

A farm in Thailand is rearing the world's tallest water buffalo. While the giant bovine looks intimidating, his caretakers insist otherwise.
King Kong is officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s tallest living water buffalo.
The Guinness World Records has entered the world's tallest water buffalo in its book. King Kong, the behemoth buffalo, lives at Ninlanee Farm in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.
The water buffalo is the largest bovid in the bovine tribe, and King Kong stands 50 cm taller than the average water buffalo. In all, he measures 185 cm from hoof to withers at just three years of age.
Given King Kong's size, it's no surprise he eats 35 kg of food per day. In comparison, an average buffalo consumes 21–26 kg of food daily.
The farm is owned by Suchart Booncharoen, who recalls King Kong being big from birth. Born on 1 April 2021, the huge calf was, of course, named King Kong.
King Kong's stature may be formidable, but he is a playful puppy who loves to splash in the pool.

At Ninlanee Farm, King Kong lives with horses and other water buffaloes, including his parents.
The giant beast may look a bit intimidating to people who haven't spent time at the farm, but for workers at the farm, he is a cheerful lad who loves to run around people.
Like other domesticated animals, King Kong loves a good scratch and munching on treats, his favorite being bananas.
A normal day in his life starts at 6 a.m. when he is brought into the yard. He then obediently plays in the ponds, showers, and eats breakfast.
He spends the rest of the day doing his own thing before being given a shower at 5:30 p.m. After the cleanup, he is served dinner and tucked into bed for a good night's sleep.
