In 1996, a Hong Kong gangster kidnapped the son of billionaire business magnate, Sir Ka-shing Li, and went to the tycoon's house to personally collect a ransom of HK$1 billion (around USD$130 million). After releasing his son, the kidnapper called Li and asked for advice on how to invest the ransom money.
