The much-loved Betty White’s fame and appreciation got her to be a respected panelist on all the three major versions of the show, To Tell the Truth.

To Tell the Truth is an American television panel show in which four celebrity panelists are presented with three contestants and they must choose the “central character” whose unusual occupation has been read aloud by the show’s host.

The show was a big-time hit and aired on CBS television from 1956 to 1968. All three major versions of the show had Betty White as one of the panelists. (Source)

11 Betty White has had a long television career spanning seven decades. Her first job was in 1939 that involved singing songs on a first-of-its-kind experimental TV channel. She is a record holder for the “longest television career of any male or female entertainer.”

It was at that time that Bob Barker was to be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2009 Games Show Awards. When he came to know that Betty White would be present there too, he threatened the show producers that he would not come if White was attending.

She always wanted to be a Forest Ranger when she was a little girl, but could not become one as women were not allowed in such professions back then. The four women starring in the famous The Golden Girls show were Betty White, Rue McClanahan, Estelle Getty, and Bea Arthur. They all died before Betty White, who died in December of 2021.

Sliced bread was introduced in 1928 by Otto Frederick Rohwedder. Before his invention, bread was sold in whole loaves and no one thought that sliced bread could stay fresh. The sliced bread invention came much later than the birth of Betty White, and she saw the transition from whole loaves to sliced bread during her lifetime.
