A Dutch startup called The Great Bubble Barrier has built an innovative technology for removing plastic pollution from Europe's rivers. The technology pumps air through a tube at the bottom of a water body and creates a curtain of bubbles that pushes plastic to the surface. Then a catchment system collects and retains the trash.
