A mother once called the Mister Rogers Neighborhood studio and asked if she could get a signed copy of Mr. Rogers’ picture for her daughter, who was suffering from a rare brain disease and was to have surgery. Mr. Rogers called her and they spoke on the phone for over an hour. He even visited her in the hospital with his puppets and gave her a private show.
