Aardwolves are neither aardvarks nor wolves. They are actually closely related to hyenas. They feed almost exclusively on termites, and an aardwolf can eat as many as 250,000 termites in a single night. The animal's long, sticky tongue has adapted to withstand the strong bite of termites.
