This breed dates back to 1987. It started when a kitten with a unique crinkled coat and curly whiskers was born. It is a hybrid of British shorthair and Persian cat breeds. Its life span is 10-15 years and weighs around 10-15 pounds. Its size can be medium to long.

This breed of cat has highly curled hair, which is its most distinctive feature. The hair is normal in length, however, one can find varieties with short and long hair. It originated in Montana, US. The cats have laid-back, reserved qualities like the British shorthair and are cuddly just like the Persian, the two breeds from whom it originated.

They also carry playfulness that of the exotic shorthair. This robust breed seems to have no specific health problem as such. Also, this breed is distinct from all other rex breeds in cats, where the differences are in terms of hair length. (source)
