Brenda Barnes decided to leave her job at PepsiCo in 1999 when she was at the top of her game. She made this tough decision as she wanted to raise her kids by staying home to help raise them. Barnes was determined to spend time with her three kids, who were then aged ten, eight, and seven. She was one of the most powerful businesswomen in America at that time but didn’t hesitate as her children were her number one priority.

This decision of Barnes stepping down had raised many debates across America at that time. In 2004, Barnes made a comeback as the top executive of Sara Lee. Soon, she was promoted to the post of CEO of this food conglomerate. This mom had left her critics speechless like a pro. She proved that women can prioritize their families and careers at convenience. (source)

In 2012, the F4 Tornado had hit a town named Henryville in Indiana. The wind was blowing at a speed of 175 miles per hour, and Stephanie was alone in the house with her two children. Their entire home was trembling, and Stephanie sheltered in the basement along with her kids. She even wrapped up her two children with a blanket to protect them.

When Decker looked upwards, she could see that the 20-foot-long I-beam that was holding up their home was falling. She knew she could get away if she would let her kids go. However, being the fearless mom that she was, she let the beam fall on her legs. Her legs were stuck under the fallen beam.

Stephanie could also see that a pillar was torn, and it was coming towards Decker’s daughter’s head. At this point, Decker was unable to move the lower part of her body. So, to save her daughter, she twisted back. This broke eight ribs on her body, and her lungs were also punctured.

Decker says she has never regretted her decision of saving her kids over herself. In 2013, she even started Stephanie Decker Foundation which gave help to 250 children who lost their legs. Currently, Decker is a motivational speaker. (1, 2)

The day of 11 April 1982, was a typical day for Georgia-based Tony Cavallo. He was fixing his 1964 Chevy Impala when the car suddenly fell on him. Soon, he was terrified and became unconscious. However, his mom, Angela Cavallo, came to his rescue. His mother was backed up by “hysterical strength” as she lifted the car which normally was much too heavy for her to do so.

Some neighbors also ran to help Angela, and they dragged Tony out as Angela continued to hold up the car. The strength she showcased was unbelievable and is defined as “hysterical strength.” (source)

In 2018, China’s Xuchang witnessed a horrific incident. A mother and her two children were trapped on the fourth floor of an apartment where a fire had broken out. However, this fearless mom was not ready to give up so easily. In an attempt to save her children, this mother threw two bedsheets from the window of the fourth floor. She wanted the neighbors to catch her children with them.

Afterward, the mom threw her two children, one by one, from the window. Once the neighbors saved the children, they also asked the mother to jump down. However, smoke was extreme by that time, and the mother couldn’t possibly do so. Later, the firemen appeared, and they took the mother and children to the hospital. While both the children were out of danger, the mother died in the hospital of smoke inhalation. (source)

A mother in Ukraine, aged 51, was found digging a 35-foot-long tunnel to free her son. The incident took place recently in the southern Zaporizhia area of Ukraine. The son of the lady, who is from Mykolaiv, had recently been sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison. Reportedly, this man had committed a murder and is currently serving a life sentence in southern Zaporizhia, Ukraine.

The badass mom, however, had some other plans. She moved to a rented house in the same area and tried to free her son. Many local residents even thought that she was a miner’s daughter, as she had shovels and pickaxes with her. This mother, whose identity is not revealed, would dig the tunnel only at nighttime, to stay away from curious eyes. She would even use a silent scooter so that nobody could know what she was up to.

Three weeks after starting, this mother was caught. By that time, her tunnel had almost reached the prison walls. She would dump all the soil at a nearby abandoned garage. In fact, before getting caught, she single-handedly pulled out soil of over three tons. The locals didn’t even recognize this lady as she maintained a low profile during the daytime. Some digging equipment was also found by the police while searching her rented apartment.

This mom might have done some illegal things, but the people of Ukraine are praising her as a “real mother.” (source)
