But Khanzir hadn’t always been a lonely pig. He was sent from China in 2002 as a piglet along with a female pig. They both mated and even had a litter of piglets. But in 2006, a caretaker left the nearby bear’s cage open and one of the bears managed to enter the pig enclosure. Lightning storms on the surface of these planets convert methane into soot (carbon). The soot hardens when it falls, and it forms chunks of graphite. Eventually, it turns into chunks of diamond due to the extreme temperature and pressure. The diamonds then rain on the surface of these planets and finally melt into the liquid sea of the planet’s super-hot core.(source)
