14 The original version of Black Lightning, one of the first DC’s African American superheroes, was a white racist who turned into black superhero in times of stress. He was described by the comic historian Don Markstein as “an insult to practically everybody with any point of view at all.”
Initially called the Black Bomber, the superhero character had two identities, and two girlfriends who knew about the change he undergoes. But, he wasn’t aware of his dual nature and once when he saves someone whom he can’t clearly see he swears after finding out that it was a black person. That version was never printed, and the new editor, Tony Isabella, who was assigned the comic, changed the story. The superhero became a black athlete, who later becomes a teacher to help make a difference and at night puts on his costume becoming Black Lightning.(1, 2)

He also said that Australians use only two-thirds of the alphabet when speaking, almost substituting the letter ‘w’ for ‘l’ in the middle of words because it’s hard to pronounce.
